Will YOU Volunteer with the Food Ministry at the Third Church HOPE Center?

Knox Church is connected to something truly meaningful and we need your help! Third Church’s HOPE Center has partnered with Last Mile Food Rescue to bring free, surplus food directly to the East Westwood and Roll Hill neighborhoods every week — collecting what would otherwise go to waste from stores, restaurants, and events, and putting it in the hands of families who need it most. Over 500 pounds of food is distributed on each visit.

Distribution happens in the HOPE Center parking lot every Tuesday and Thursday from noon to 2:00 PM, with young people from the Peace, Hope & Love program on hand to help with setup and to assist seniors in carrying food home.

But the ministry goes deeper than groceries. The steady community presence at the HOPE Center opens doors to other vital services — voter registration, expungement assistance, job search support, and educational programs – for neighbors who might not have sought them out otherwise.

Volunteers are needed to staff the HOPE Center desk from 11:30 AM to 2:30 PM on Tuesdays and Thursdays – welcoming guests, documenting needs, and supporting the youth volunteers. If this feels like your kind of ministry, reach out to Israel Bonnell at israel.bonnell@gmail.com.
