Join Knox

Thoughtful spirituality for curious minds and joyful hearts.

We would love to welcome you into membership of Knox Church. All who wish to take this deeper step on their journey of faith and discipleship of Jesus Christ are invited. Whoever you are, you have a place in the Knox Body of Christ. We have pathways to membership designed for those new to Presbyterianism and/or Christianity and for those with a church or Presbyterian background.

Pathway to Membership

We are happy to welcome you into membership of Knox Church! All who wish to take this deeper step on their journey of faith and discipleship of Christ are invited to join – there is a place for everyone in the Body of Christ. Following is information to help you on your path.

The Pathway to Membership of Knox is a 3-part journey:

  1. Attending a New Member Class*
  2. Attending a Presbyterianism 101 class, for those new to the Presbyterian and Reformed traditions and those desiring a refresher. *
  3. Attending Sunday worship on New Member Welcome Sunday

*NOTE: Participating in parts 1 and 2 does not obligate you to join. You may be in the inquiry stage and wish to learn more before committing, so please feel free to join us for any of our Pathway to Membership sessions and bring your questions! Also, if you wish to meet with a pastor to explore further, please feel free to contact Rev. Jana Reister at jreister@knox.org or at 513-321-2573, ext 106.

To support you on your path to membership, we also encourage you to watch the videos of Theocademy for new members, entitled, “Being Presbyterian: Foundations of Presbyterian Discipleship. This series of short videos, found at http://www.theocademy.com/lessons-for-new-members, help unpack the meaning of the Profession of Faith questions that Presbyterians affirm at our baptism, Confirmation, and joining the church as an adult. We will discuss these Profession of Faith questions at the New Member Class and have time to respond to what questions, wonderings, or concerns you may have about them. Here is a preview:

PROFESSION OF FAITH BY THOSE UNITING WITH THE CONGREGATION

Trusting in the gracious mercy of God, do you turn from the ways of sin and renounce evil and its power in the world?

Do you turn to Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior, trusting in his grace and love?

Will you be Christ’s faithful disciple, obeying Christ’s Word and showing Christ’s love?  Will you, with God’s help?

she would love to discuss membership with you!
