Knox Deacons

“The ministry of deacon as set forth in scripture is one of compassion, witness, and service, sharing in the redeeming love of Jesus Christ for the poor, the hungry, the sick, the lost, the friendless, the oppressed, those burdened by unjust policies or structures, or anyone in distress.”

Servant Leaders
Servant Leaders

Knox Deacons are servant leaders who strive to live out the redeeming love of Jesus Christ through extending hospitality, compassion, and grace to members of Knox Church and to our community beyond the church’s walls.

Sunday Morning Hospitality

Ushers/Greeters provide a hospitable welcome to everyone who enters the doors of Knox church on Sunday mornings and other occasions.

Welcome Desk Ministry provides a welcoming presence at the front desk on Sunday mornings, answering the phone and helping worshipers find their way in the building.

Communion Preparation: these teams offer hospitality by preparing and cleaning up the communion elements on communion Sundays.

Coffee & Conversation/Linger on the Lawn: The Knox Deacons organize our coffee hour between services during the fall/winter/spring and Linger on the Lawn in the summer – refreshments and conversation!
